The Bermuda Diabetes Association was formed in 1978 by Joanne Dean Armstrong and Debbie Hollis Jones. Their mission is to Lead the Bermuda Community to reduce the prevalence of Diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected. It is all possible through mentorship, support, programmes. Thanks to the generous donors and the donations the center receives, that we are able to offer free medication to those who have diabetes and are underinsured or uninsured. The association also has a full-service pharmacy with medication available for those with and without diabetes and prides itself in being the cheapest pharmacy on the island. During the summer months, I was curating the social media posts for the association and got the opportunity to creatively layout posts/stories/ads for the new website which had launched in June, new promotional posts for programmes like Nutrition Steps which was in collaboration with Arlene MacGuinness, RD and sponsored by Butterfield Bank, updated the branding on the story highlights by using colors from their brand color palette and more. I would incorporate fun ways to get our followers to interact more by asking questions within the stories or in captions under posts. I am a very creative/visual person so whenever I get to use these skills, grow and learn more about art direction, marketing, or anything creative, I love it!
