INDUSTRY AWARENESS
–
As part of the Fashion Media and Promotion course we were required to go on either one internship for two months, two internships within two months or do a live project and one internship for a month. This was the first time doing an internship for me in the UK being an international student. It was a bit overwhelming at first because London is so much bigger than what I was used to but that made the experience that much more worth while. I choose to do two different placements: one at IPR London (February 2017) and the other at Phoenix Magazine (March 2017).
Along with going on the placement we had to create a documentary which you can see above that summarises all the tasks I did during my time at the companies. Some of those tasks included: creating social media ads, sourcing locations for a photoshoot, creating invitations for Fashion Week, attending/directing invited guests at the show, merchandising showrooms, sourcing images for editorial spreads, creating layouts for the online and print version of Phoenix Magazine and more. Working alongside the Art Director at Phoenix Magazine showed me that I really do love creating editorial spreads or layouts in general. He gave me some tips within InDesign that I still use to this day i.e keyboard shortcuts. Additionally, we had to make daily posts on Instagram of what we were doing throughout the weeks. See below for my Instagram posts ranging in architecture, scenery, objects and tasks.
